author Rachel Menard in a guided writing workshop for teens and adults that will teach
techniques and strategies for modernizing or reworking a classic myth, fairy tale or

Myth Makers and Modern Day Fairy Tales - Girl Scout Workshop

THIS IS A GIRL SCOUTS EVENT AND NEEDS TO BE BOOKED THROUGH GSSNE

Write your own fairy tale retelling! How would you rewrite Cinderella? What would a modern day Rapunzel look like? In this 90-minute guided workshop with young adult author, Rachel Menard, Girl Scouts will learn techniques and strategies for modernizing or reworking a classic fairy tale or folk tale to create their own unique story. They will build characters and plot lines, and work on the first pages of their new story. At the end of the workshop, we welcome Girl Scouts to share their stories and show how they twisted a classic tale. Girls should come prepared with an idea of a fairy tale they would like to rewrite and a laptop or notebook to record their story! badge included: Scribe (JR) Novelist (SR) Each attendee gets a signed copy of Rachel’s book, Game of Strength and Storm.
